Position Title: RN Nurse Educator – Maternal & Child Health
Location: Brooklyn, NY 11206
Employment Type: Contract / Travel
Duration: 13 Weeks (Non-extendable)
Shift: Not specified (inpatient hospital schedule)
Work Setting: Hospital Inpatient – L&D, NICU, MBU, Pediatrics coverage

Job Summary:
Provide clinical education, training, and mentorship to nursing staff across maternal and child health units including Labor & Delivery, NICU, Mother/Baby Unit, and Pediatrics. Support staff development, competency assessment, and evidence-based practice implementation.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver nursing education and training programs
• Provide clinical instruction across L&D, NICU, MBU, and Pediatrics
• Assess staff competency and support skill development
• Assist with onboarding and orientation of new nursing staff
• Collaborate with nursing leadership on education needs
• Serve as a clinical mentor and resource for staff
• Promote evidence-based practice and compliance with policies
• Maintain accurate education and training documentation
• Participate in quality improvement and staff development activities

Requirements:

• Active New York State RN license required
• ASN/ADN in Nursing from an accredited program required
• Primary Source Verification through NYSED required
• AHA BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years Med/Surg experience required
• Minimum 2 years Labor & Delivery experience required
• Strong clinical background in maternal-child health
• Ability to work in fast-paced inpatient environment

Preferred:

• Master’s Degree in Nursing Education
• Experience in staff education or clinical instruction
• Prior educator or preceptor experience
