Job Title: Patient Service Technician (Phlebotomy)

Job Type: Contract | Travel
Duration: 13 Weeks (with possible extension)


Schedule

  • 40 hours per week
  • 8-hour shifts between:
    • Monday – Friday: 5:45 AM – 5:30 PM
    • Saturday: 6:45 AM – 12:15 PM
  • Occasional weekends and holidays as needed

Job Summary

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a skilled and patient-focused Patient Service Technician (Phlebotomy) to perform blood collection procedures in a safe, accurate, and efficient manner. This role is essential in ensuring high-quality patient care and maintaining specimen integrity for laboratory testing.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection on patients of all ages
  • Verify patient identity and ensure proper labeling of specimens
  • Handle, process, and prepare specimens for transport and testing
  • Follow all infection control, safety, and compliance protocols
  • Maintain patient comfort and provide excellent customer service
  • Accurately document procedures in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
  • Collaborate with healthcare staff including nurses and physicians
  • Assist with basic clerical and administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program preferred
  • Phlebotomy certification (e.g., ASCP, NHA, or equivalent) preferred or required per facility guidelines
  • Minimum 1 year of phlebotomy experience preferred (hospital or clinical setting strongly preferred)
  • Proficiency in venipuncture and capillary collection techniques
  • CPR/BLS certification preferred or required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • Familiarity with EMR systems is a plus
  • Knowledge of specimen handling, infection control, and safety standards
