Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical
Location: Lubbock, TX 
Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks
Weekly Hours: ~36 Hours

Schedule

• Shift: Night Shift – 3x12 Hours (07:00 PM – 07:00 AM)
• Hours: 36 hours/week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: Required across units

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a skilled Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join a high-acuity acute care surgery and med-surg overflow unit. The RN will deliver patient-centered care to post-operative and medical-surgical patients in a fast-paced Level II Trauma Center environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct bedside care to adult and geriatric patients
• Manage post-operative and acute medical-surgical cases
• Administer medications and IV therapies accurately
• Perform wound care and dressing changes
• Monitor vital signs and respond to clinical changes
• Manage telemetry and cardiac monitoring
• Participate in rapid response and code situations
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (PT, RT, Pharmacy)
• Document patient care in Epic EMR
• Assist with discharge planning and patient education

• Unit: Acute Care Surgery / Emergency General Surgery / Med-Surg Overflow
• Patient Ratio: 1:5
• Facility Type: Short-Term Acute Care
• Trauma Level: Level II Trauma Center

Required Qualifications

• Active RN License (Compact or Texas eligible)
• Minimum 1 year Med-Surg experience in acute care setting
• Strong clinical and critical thinking skills
• Experience with post-operative and medical-surgical patients
• Epic EMR experience (Required)
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS (Required)

Preferred Qualifications

• Telemetry experience
• Experience with emergency general surgery cases
• Prior travel nursing experience
