Position Title: Medical Assistant
Location: Fortuna, CA
Weekly Hours: 40 hours
Schedule: Day Shift – 4x10 hours (07:30 AM – 05:30 PM)
Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (with strong possibility of extension)

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Assistant to support an outpatient clinic team in a fast-paced family practice setting. The role involves a combination of clinical and administrative responsibilities, working closely with physicians and clinical staff to ensure high-quality patient care.

Primary Responsibilities

• Room patients and record vital signs (height, weight, pulse oximetry, etc.)
• Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during procedures
• Administer injections and immunizations as directed
• Perform basic in-office lab testing (urinalysis, glucose, strep, pregnancy tests)
• Collect and process clinical specimens (throat swabs, urine, wound cultures)
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including history, medications, and allergies
• Assist with wound care, dressing changes, and nebulizer treatments
• Support administrative workflows such as chart preparation, pharmacy coordination, and supply management
• Conduct patient follow-up calls and assist with care coordination

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of recent Medical Assistant experience
• Hands-on experience with Epic electronic medical records (EMR) system
• Ability to function effectively in an outpatient clinical environment

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program preferred

Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred
