Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a licensed Retail Pharmacist for a short-term assignment in Cordova, Alaska, supporting a critical access hospital pharmacy. The role involves dispensing medications, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing direct patient counseling in a remote healthcare setting. This position requires independence, strong clinical judgment, and adaptability to rural healthcare operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately dispense prescription medications in compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Review prescriptions for dosage accuracy, interactions, and appropriateness
  • Provide patient counseling on medication usage, side effects, and adherence
  • Manage retail pharmacy operations and workflow at dispensing window
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and clinical teams for patient care coordination
  • Maintain complete and accurate pharmacy records and documentation
  • Oversee medication inventory, storage, and ordering processes
  • Ensure compliance with hospital and pharmacy regulatory standards
  • Deliver high-quality patient service in a small community healthcare environment

Required Qualifications

  • Active Alaska Pharmacist License
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree
  • Minimum 2 years of pharmacy experience
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug safety, and medication therapy management
  • Ability to work independently in a remote facility
  • Strong communication and patient counseling skills
  • High attention to detail and regulatory compliance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior retail pharmacy experience
  • Hospital pharmacy experience
  • Experience working in rural or critical access healthcare settings
