Location: Cicero, IL 60804
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 08:00 AM – 03:30 PM (Day Shift)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Duration: 42 weeks
Work Type: In-person (School-Based Role)
Licensure: Active Illinois Occupational Therapist License required


Position Summary

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to support students in a school-based environment in Cicero, IL. The OT will collaborate closely with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to enhance students’ functional independence, academic participation, and overall developmental progress within the school setting.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide occupational therapy services in alignment with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Assess students’ motor, sensory, cognitive, and functional performance abilities
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to support educational and developmental goals
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to support student success
  • Document evaluations, progress notes, and therapy outcomes in a timely and accurate manner
  • Support development of fine motor skills, handwriting, sensory integration, and self-care abilities
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute professional recommendations
  • Ensure compliance with school policies, state regulations, and federal education guidelines
  • Monitor student progress and adjust intervention strategies as needed
  • Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders regarding student progress

Qualifications

  • Active Illinois Occupational Therapist License (required)
  • Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
  • Prior experience in a school-based OT setting required
  • Strong understanding of pediatric development and educational therapy practices
  • Experience working with IEPs and special education services preferred
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for working with children, parents, and school staff
  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload in a structured school environment
