Job Title: Senior Healthcare IT Business Analyst / Project Lead (Cerner EHR)

Location: Cayce, SC [Remote/Ocassional Visits as needed by client]
Duration: 12-Month Contract


Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Healthcare IT Business Analyst / Project Lead to support the implementation and ongoing optimization of a vendor-hosted Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. This role will serve as a subject matter expert for Cerner applications, leading cross-functional initiatives, troubleshooting complex system issues, and supporting end users across clinical and operational teams.


Key Responsibilities

EHR Implementation & Support

  • Serve as a lead analyst for EHR (Cerner) implementation, configuration, and optimization
  • Support modules including PowerChart, PowerNote, PowerForm, PowerPlan, and Dynamic Documentation
  • Assist with system upgrades, enhancements, and new module implementations (e.g., pharmacy)

Application & Technical Support

  • Provide advanced troubleshooting for system, interface, and integration issues
  • Support report development, including custom reports and modifications (CCL)
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and system security
  • Monitor system performance, data quality, and usage reports

Integration & Workflow Management

  • Work with HL7 interfaces and external system integrations
  • Map and maintain interface documentation and workflows
  • Collaborate with clinical and business teams to define current and future workflows

Project Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical and operational issues
  • Facilitate technical discussions, design reviews, and stakeholder meetings
  • Manage change control processes and ensure compliance with IT standards
  • Support testing activities including UAT, validation, and release management

Documentation & Training

  • Create and maintain system documentation, SOPs, and training materials
  • Provide user training and onboarding support
  • Maintain collaboration platforms (e.g., SharePoint)

Continuous Improvement & Compliance

  • Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance system performance and user experience
  • Ensure adherence to security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Support IT lifecycle processes and governance standards

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Public Health, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare IT systems and application support
  • 5+ years of experience as an IT Systems Analyst or Business Analyst
  • Strong experience with HL7 integrations
  • Experience with Foreign Systems Integration (FSI)
  • Hands-on experience with Cerner EHR platforms (including Cerner Olympus)
  • Experience developing and compiling reports

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Cerner tools and modules such as:
    • Cerner CCL (query language)
    • Cerner Bedrock, HNA, Remedy
    • Work Queue Manager (WQM)
    • Remote Report Distribution (RRD)
    • Reference Lab Network (RLN)
  • Knowledge of JavaScript
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio) and SharePoint
