Travel Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (ER)

Location: Lubbock, Texas
Facility: Short-Term Acute Care Hospital (Level II Trauma Center)
Unit: Emergency Services East 1 (ER Unit 10105)


Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room (ER) to join a busy Level II Trauma Center in Lubbock, Texas. This role requires strong clinical judgment, rapid decision-making skills, and the ability to provide high-quality care in a fast-paced emergency department environment.

The RN will manage a diverse patient population with a strong focus on stabilization, triage, and acute care interventions.


Key Details

  • Shift: Night Shift (3x12 Hours) – 19:00 to 07:00
  • Schedule: 3 shifts per week (36 hours/week)
  • Duration: 13 Weeks
  • Orientation: 40 hours (Non-billable)
  • Patient Ratio: 1:3
  • Weekend Requirement: Yes (6 weekend shifts per 6 weeks)
  • Block Scheduling: Optional
  • Floating: Not required
  • Call: Not required

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct emergency nursing care for adult and pediatric patients
  • Perform rapid assessment, triage, and stabilization of critical patients
  • Manage cardiac and respiratory emergencies
  • Administer medications and IV therapies as ordered
  • Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias
  • Assist with emergency procedures and trauma response
  • Collaborate with physicians, RTs, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Maintain accurate documentation in EMR systems
  • Ensure patient safety and adherence to hospital protocols

Required Qualifications

  • Active Texas RN License (required)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent ER experience (hard stop requirement)
  • Certifications Required:
    • BLS
    • ACLS
    • PALS
    • TNCC
    • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
  • Strong experience in trauma and emergency care settings
  • Ability to manage high-acuity patients independently
  • Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
