Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Location: North Bergen, New Jersey (07047)
Schedule: Day Shift – 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
Duration: 14 Weeks / Contract
Hours: 40 hours/week (8 hours/day, 5 days/week)
Weekend/Holiday/On-Call: None


Job Summary

A healthcare facility is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures in a fast-paced hospital setting. The role involves working with advanced imaging technology, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operate nuclear medicine equipment and perform diagnostic imaging procedures
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with safety protocols
  • Perform radionuclide imaging, organ function studies, and assist with therapeutic procedures
  • Ensure proper patient identification and image quality using PACS systems
  • Provide radiation protection for patients, self, and staff
  • Prepare radioactive tracer compounds and calibrate equipment
  • Receive, inspect, and manage radiopharmaceutical materials per regulatory guidelines
  • Maintain accurate records of radioactive material usage, storage, and disposal
  • Ensure cleanliness and contamination-free work environment
  • Rotate through assignments such as Cardiology and PET/CT as needed
  • Perform clerical duties including scheduling, documentation, and system updates (e.g., EMR systems)
  • Communicate effectively with patients and caregivers, adapting to individual needs
  • Adhere to organizational policies, safety standards, and professional conduct guidelines

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of clinical experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in a hospital setting
  • Strong knowledge of nuclear medicine procedures, safety standards, and imaging systems
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program

Certifications & Licensure

  • Valid state license (NJDEP or equivalent)
  • ARRT (Nuclear Medicine) or NMTCB certification required
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
