Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – ED / Paediatric ED
Location: Syracuse, New York,13210
Duration: Contract
Schedule: 3x12-Hour Variable Shifts (36 hours/week)
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend + some holidays

Job Overview: Seeking experienced Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) with Emergency Department (ED) and Paediatric ED experience. The ideal candidate will be skilled in IV placement, phlebotomy, and capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced acute care environment with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care in an acute care / ED setting
• Perform IV insertion and phlebotomy
• Take and record vital signs and patient progress
• Prepare patients for examinations and assist physicians during procedures
• Administer injections and assist with clinical procedures
• Set up exam rooms and maintain clinical areas
• Observe and report patient responses to treatments
• Assist with scheduling, chart preparation, and general administrative duties
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
• Obtain insurance authorizations and coordinate referrals

Required Qualifications:

• Current New York State LPN License
• Minimum 1 year of experience (ED or Paediatric ED preferred)
• IV placement and phlebotomy skills required
• CPR Certification (or ability to obtain)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior inpatient or hospital experience
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
