Position Title: Dental Assistant
Location: Manhattan, New York City (10022)
Job Type: Contract (Travel or Local)
Shift: Per Diem
Duration: Up to 52 weeks (based on candidate preference)

Job Summary

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to support the dental team in delivering high-quality patient care. This role involves assisting during general dental procedures, ensuring patient comfort, maintaining a clean and organized clinical environment, and supporting both clinical and administrative functions within the practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up treatment rooms prior to patient appointments
• Sterilize instruments and ensure compliance with infection control protocols
• Assist the dentist during procedures by passing instruments and managing materials
• Take and process dental X-rays as required
• Educate patients on oral hygiene, treatment plans, and post-procedure care
• Maintain accurate patient records and update charts as needed
• Support scheduling, billing, and basic front desk operations when required
• Monitor and restock dental supplies and equipment
• Ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for patients and staff
• Communicate effectively with patients and team members to ensure smooth workflow

Skills & Experience

Required:

• Prior experience as a Dental Assistant
• Knowledge of general dental procedures and chairside assisting

Preferred:

• Experience with dental practice management software
• Strong organizational and communication skills

Education

Required:

• Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program
  OR
• Minimum of one (1) year of hands-on experience as a Dental Assistant

Preferred:

• Additional certifications or formal training in dental assisting

Certifications & Licensure

Required:

• Valid X-ray certification
• 1–2 years of relevant hands-on experience

Preferred:

• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) credential
