Job Title: Anesthesia Technician
Location: Syracuse, NY
Shift: Rotating – Days & Evenings (5x8 Hours)

• Day: 07:00 AM – 03:00 PM
• Evening: 02:00 PM – 10:30 PM
  Duration: 13 Weeks

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Anesthesia Technician to support surgical services in a fast-paced acute care environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in cardiac cases and invasive procedures, and be comfortable working across multiple anesthesia locations. This role requires flexibility for rotating shifts, weekend coverage, and on-call responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain anesthesia equipment and supplies for surgical procedures
• Perform room setup and turnover, including preparation for invasive procedures
• Assist anesthesia providers during procedures, including:
  • Arterial line (A-line) placement
  • Central venous catheter (CVC) placement
  • Swan-Ganz catheter (thermodilution) setup
• Troubleshoot anesthesia machines and related equipment
• Ensure adherence to aseptic and sterile techniques
• Follow infection control protocols for anesthesia equipment and supplies
• Restock anesthesia carts and rooms; manage supply inventory
• Support all areas where general anesthesia is administered

Requirements:

• Experience:
  • 3–5 years of Anesthesia Tech experience preferred
  • Strong experience with acute cardiac cases required
  • Experience in Level 1 Trauma Center preferred
• Education:
  • Graduate of an accredited Anesthesia Technology program
• Certifications:
  • ASATT (American Society of Anesthesia Technologists & Technicians) certification required
  • BLS (CPR) required
• Skills:
  • Proficiency with central lines, A-lines, and Swan-Ganz catheters
  • Strong knowledge of sterile techniques and equipment reprocessing
  • Ability to troubleshoot various anesthesia machines
  • Knowledge of infection control practices
