Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician (SPT)
Location: Cortlandt Manor, NY
Duration: 12 Weeks
Schedule: Day Shift – 5x8 Hours (07:00 AM – 03:00 PM)

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) to support surgical services by ensuring all instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and prepared. This is a 12-week assignment covering a leave of absence, offering the opportunity to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, clean, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment
• Prepare and distribute sterile instrument trays based on surgical schedules
• Operate sterilization equipment (steam, low-temperature systems, etc.) per established protocols
• Perform routine quality checks to ensure sterility, safety, and functionality
• Maintain accurate documentation of sterilization processes and logs
• Ensure compliance with infection control standards and regulatory guidelines
• Manage inventory of sterile supplies and proactively communicate shortages
• Respond to urgent instrument needs and support surgical teams efficiently
• Participate in on-call rotation as required

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
• Minimum 2 years of sterile processing or instrument handling experience (preferred)
• CSP Certification (HSPA/IAHCSMM) preferred
• If not certified, must comply with New York State Central Services requirements
• Instrument certification is a plus
• Must maintain at least 10 continuing education credits annually
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
