Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive care to mothers during labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical expertise in obstetrics, the ability to manage high-acuity patients, and experience working in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Schedule & Work Environment

• Night shift: 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Option for 3x12 or 4x12 schedules (based on facility needs)
• Acute care hospital setting
• Floating to similar units may be required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care during labor, delivery, and postpartum
• Monitor maternal and fetal status, including fetal heart rate monitoring
• Assist physicians during labor, delivery, and emergency procedures
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments as prescribed
• Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, and postpartum care
• Respond to obstetric emergencies and provide critical care interventions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EMR systems (Epic preferred)

Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – California (must be in hand at submission)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience
• Labor & postpartum experience required (mandatory)
• Certifications required:
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills

Preferred Qualifications

• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification
• Experience in high-volume or acute care labor & delivery units
• Familiarity with Epic EMR system
• Previous travel nursing experience
