Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Unit

Location: Ithaca, NY
Job Type: Contract (13 Weeks)

Assignment Details:

• Shift: Variable (Days/Nights)
• Schedule: 3 x 12-hour shifts (36 hours/week)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join a Medical Unit at a leading healthcare facility. The RN will provide comprehensive patient care in an acute care setting, ensuring high standards of clinical excellence and patient safety.

Responsibilities:

• Provide patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation)
• Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes in a timely manner
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation using EMR systems
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge instructions
• Ensure adherence to infection control, safety, and hospital policies

Requirements:

• Active RN license (state-specific or compact)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required
• NIHSS (Stroke Scale Certification) required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a similar-sized acute care facility
• Epic EMR experience required
• Ability to work weekends and flexible shifts
• Maximum 7 days of RTO (Requested Time Off) allowed

Patient Ratio:

• 1:5 to 1:6
