Job Title: RN – Primary Care

Location: Juneau, Alaska
Job Type: Permanent
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)


Position Summary

The RN – Primary Care provides direct nursing care in an outpatient clinic setting, supporting providers and clinical staff to ensure efficient, high-quality patient care. This role involves clinical responsibilities, care coordination, and operational support within a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care & Patient Support

  • Provide direct patient care in an outpatient clinic setting
  • Assist providers and clinic staff with patient care delivery
  • Perform nursing duties including assessments, treatments, and documentation
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation of all patient care activities

Clinic Operations & Coordination

  • Support daily clinic operations, including patient flow and front desk coordination
  • Oversee opening and closing of clinic activities
  • Maintain medication inventory and clinic supplies
  • Ensure proper functioning of point-of-care testing and quality controls

Communication & Collaboration

  • Communicate effectively with providers, staff, and other departments
  • Anticipate provider and patient needs to maintain smooth workflow
  • Serve as a resource for patients and team members
  • Support team-based care delivery

Compliance & Quality

  • Follow infection control, safety, and regulatory guidelines
  • Participate in required training, competencies, and staff meetings
  • Report safety concerns, equipment issues, and clinical risks
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and standards

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of acute care experience preferred

Licensure & Certifications

  • Active, unrestricted RN license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Completion of required clinical and high-risk competencies within designated timeframe

  • Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced outpatient environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Outpatient clinical setting
  • Requires standing, walking, and continuous patient interaction
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Exposure to standard healthcare environment conditions
