Job Title: System Director of Quality Management and Accreditation

Location: Juneau, Alaska
Job Type: Permanent
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday (Day Shift)


Position Summary

This leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Quality Management, Accreditation, and Risk Management programs. The position provides strategic direction and operational leadership across accreditation compliance, infection control, patient safety, regulatory readiness, and performance improvement initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead and develop the Quality Management & Accreditation function
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships across departments
  • Align quality initiatives with overall organizational goals

Quality & Compliance

  • Oversee accreditation processes and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in accreditation and credentialing
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives using PDSA cycles and performance metrics
  • Maintain readiness for accreditation surveys and audits

Program Management

  • Design, implement, and manage quality management programs
  • Integrate quality improvement across clinical and non-clinical departments
  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and quality frameworks

Data & Reporting

  • Collaborate with EHR and data teams to track and report quality metrics
  • Train staff on data entry and quality measurement tools
  • Prepare reports for leadership and board-level review

Risk & Patient Safety

  • Oversee risk management, infection control, and employee health programs
  • Investigate complaints and recommend resolutions
  • Report findings to executive leadership and governing bodies

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Directly manage healthcare professionals and quality teams
  • Lead team performance, development, and engagement initiatives

Requirements

Education

  • RN License or equivalent clinical degree (required)
  • Master’s degree in healthcare, business, or related field (preferred)
  • CPHQ (Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality) required within 18 months

Experience

  • 5+ years in healthcare administration or performance improvement
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in a healthcare setting
