Job Title: EEG Technician
Location: Syracuse, NY
Department: EEG / Neurodiagnostics
Job Type: Contract (Travel/Local)
Duration: 13 Weeks

Schedule:

  • Shift: Day Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
  • Schedule: 5x8.5 (Every other weekend required)
  • Guaranteed Hours: 42.5 hours per week

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled EEG Technician to perform neurodiagnostic testing across inpatient and outpatient settings. This role involves conducting EEG studies for patients of all age groups, ensuring accurate data collection, and supporting physicians in diagnosing neurological conditions.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide compassionate patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine EEG studies in accordance with ASET guidelines
  • Prepare patients and apply electrodes for both adult and pediatric populations
  • Record, monitor, and analyze EEG waveforms
  • Enter raw data and prepare reports for physician interpretation
  • Edit and manage long-term (24-hour) EEG recordings
  • Maintain and troubleshoot EEG equipment as needed
  • Ensure proper documentation and logging of all procedures
  • Stock and organize EEG acquisition stations
  • Communicate effectively with patients and families to ensure comfort and understanding
  • Follow all hospital and departmental policies and procedures

Required Education

  • Relevant certification or degree in Neurodiagnostics or a related field preferred

Required Certifications & Licensure

  • Registered EEG Technician (required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of EEG experience
  • Strong knowledge of EEG procedures and waveform analysis
  • Experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings preferred
  • Strong computer and data entry skills
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • High attention to detail and commitment to patient safety

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU)
