Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week

Pay Rates:

  • Local: Up to $52/hr 
  • Travel: Up to $58/hr 

Job Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive healthcare services in a correctional facility setting. The RN will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, administering medications, and supporting licensed providers in the treatment and management of inmate/resident health needs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct and comprehensive nursing care to inmates/residents
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by Licensed Independent Providers
  • Conduct patient assessments, monitor conditions, and respond to medical emergencies
  • Assist providers during examinations, sick calls, and treatment procedures
  • Maintain accurate and confidential medical records in compliance with policies
  • Supervise and guide LPNs and unlicensed medical staff
  • Monitor inpatient hospitalizations and coordinate care transitions
  • Identify and report changes in patient condition promptly
  • Ensure safe storage and handling of medical supplies and medications
  • Conduct health education and counseling for patients
  • Participate in audits, reporting, and compliance with healthcare regulations
  • Assist with accreditation processes (NCCHC, ACA, JCAHO) as required
  • Maintain a secure environment by identifying and mitigating contraband risks
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external healthcare providers

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma/Associate/Bachelor’s degree)
  • Active RN license in the state of Colorado (or compact state, if applicable)
  • Minimum 1 year of professional nursing experience preferred
  • Previous corrections experience is a plus
  • Strong clinical, assessment, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and secure environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times

Additional Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Social Security Card required for facility clearance
  • Must be willing to work as per facility scheduling policies (flexibility required)
  • Drug screening (DS) to be completed prior to start (scheduled by facility)
