Job Title: Coding Quality Review Specialist
Location: Remote (Nashville, TN)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Coding Quality Review (CQR) Specialist to perform internal quality assessments of coding practices. This remote role is responsible for ensuring compliance with national coding standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirements while supporting accurate reimbursement and data integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coordinate, and conduct quality reviews for inpatient and outpatient coding (routine, pre-bill, policy-driven, and incentive-based)
• Ensure coding staff adhere to national coding guidelines and internal policies
• Apply advanced knowledge of medical coding practices, including MS-DRG methodologies
• Participate in special audits, reviews, and quality improvement initiatives
• Maintain productivity and accuracy standards of at least 95%
• Stay up to date with coding regulations, compliance standards, and clinical guidelines
• Support continuous education and training initiatives as required

Qualifications

Education (Preferred):

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management (HIM) or Health Information Technology (HIT)

Certifications (Required – Any One):

• CCS (Certified Coding Specialist)
• RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator)
• RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician)

Experience & Skills

• Minimum 3 years of experience as an IP Coding Auditor (MS-DRG) in a hospital setting
• Strong experience across multiple body systems (non-specialized)
• Ideally 10+ years of overall coding experience
• In-depth knowledge of inpatient and outpatient coding guidelines and compliance standards
• Strong analytical and auditing skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
