Certified Surgical Technician – Oral Surgery Clinic (Travel Assignment)
Location: New York, NY 10003
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 37.5 hours/week (5 days/week)


Job Summary

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician to support surgeons and residents in an oral surgery clinic and ambulatory operating/procedure room setting. The technician will provide comprehensive chair-side and sterile field assistance to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.


Key Responsibilities

  • Escort patients to surgical chairs and perform pre-procedure screening
  • Review patient medical records to ensure completeness and procedure readiness
  • Provide consistent “four-handed” assistance during surgical procedures
  • Prepare, organize, and maintain sterile surgical instruments, trays, and equipment
  • Ensure all surfaces, countertops, and equipment are properly cleaned and disinfected prior to setup
  • Assist in taking radiographs before, during, and after procedures as required
  • Monitor patient vitals and support clinicians with suctioning, instrument passing, and medication assistance
  • Break down procedure rooms, dispose of medical waste, and reset operatory areas
  • Restock and manage surgical supplies and inventory
  • Respond promptly and effectively to clinical emergencies as needed

Required Qualifications

  • NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification – Required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience (5 years preferred) in surgical or dental/oral surgery settings
  • Strong clinical communication skills (written and verbal)

Education

  • Associate’s Degree required

  • Fast-paced clinical setting requiring strong attention to detail and teamwork
  • Patient-centered surgical support role
