Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced UX/UI Designer to support the development, testing, compliance, and rollout of user-centered digital products. This role will focus on enhancing systems that support student services and outcomes, including academic progress and socio-emotional learning, with an emphasis on special populations.

The UX/UI Designer will lead user research initiatives, create design artifacts, and develop interactive prototypes while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver intuitive and accessible solutions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage UX/UI design deliverables throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from discovery to development handoff
  • Conduct user research, including planning, execution, and synthesis of findings
  • Develop personas, journey maps, research guides, and other UX artifacts
  • Create wireframes to define product features, functionality, and data flow
  • Design and develop interactive prototypes using tools such as Figma, Sketch, InVision, or Adobe XD
  • Facilitate user testing to validate design decisions and improve user experience
  • Analyze user behavior and data insights to inform design strategy
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure seamless transition from design to implementation
  • Write and modify JavaScript to address UI challenges when needed
  • Maintain documentation using tools such as SharePoint, Jira, or similar platforms
  • Stay current with web development trends, especially in responsive/mobile design and accessibility (WCAG 2.0/2.1)
  • Contribute to and maintain UX/UI design systems and style libraries
  • Participate in knowledge sharing and presentations on user-centered design best practices

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in UX/UI design
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience conducting user research and producing deliverables such as personas, journey maps, and research documentation
  • Minimum 4+ years of hands-on experience with UX/UI design tools (Figma, Sketch, InVision, Adobe XD)
  • Strong understanding of Human-Centered Design principles
  • Experience designing in compliance with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.0/2.1)
