Job Title: Pediatric Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Location: Syracuse, NY
Job Type: Contract (Local or Travel)
Duration: 20 Weeks

Pay Rate:

  • Local: Upto $27.62 per hour
  • Travel: Upto $31.00 per hour

Schedule

  • Mix of 4 × 8-hour shifts and 4 × 12-hour shifts
  • 80 hours over two weeks
  • Every other weekend required
  • Some holiday coverage required

Job Overview

The Pediatric Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct and supportive care to pediatric patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or licensed healthcare provider. This role involves assisting with daily living activities, monitoring patient conditions, and maintaining a safe and supportive environment for children and their families.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist pediatric patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility
  • Monitor and record vital signs and intake/output, and report changes to nursing staff
  • Provide emotional support to pediatric patients and their families
  • Assist nurses with basic patient care procedures and treatments
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized care environment
  • Follow infection control protocols and safety standards
  • Transport patients, specimens, and equipment as needed
  • Document care activities accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Assist with stocking supplies and maintaining unit readiness
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to support quality patient care

Qualifications

  • Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (New York preferred)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA preferred)
  • Minimum 1 year of recent CNA experience, preferably in a pediatric or hospital setting
  • Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care to pediatric patients
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a healthcare team
  • Basic knowledge of patient care procedures and safety protocols
