Job Title: Middle School Special Education Teacher
Location: Plainfield, NJ
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:20 AM – 3:30 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 35 hours/week (30-minute lunch break)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Middle School Special Education Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs in grades 5–8. This role focuses on delivering individualized instruction, fostering an inclusive classroom environment, and supporting students in achieving academic and developmental goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction to middle school students with disabilities (grades 5–8)
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
• Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment
• Participate in meetings, including IEP and staff meetings

Caseload

• Students in grades 5–8 receiving special education services

Requirements

• Active New Jersey Department of Education (NJ DOE) Instructional License (required)
• NJ DOE Students with Disabilities certification (required)
