Position Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Wound Care
Location: Brooklyn, NY 11206
Duration: 14 Weeks

Schedule:

  • Day Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • 5 Days/Week
  • 37.5–40 Hours/Week

Position Overview

A healthcare facility is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Wound Care. This role focuses on delivering high-quality care in wound, ostomy, and continence management, while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to support optimal patient outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments related to wound, ostomy, and continence care
  • Develop and implement individualized patient care plans
  • Administer and monitor treatments, therapies, and medications
  • Evaluate and document patient progress and treatment effectiveness
  • Provide care for complex wounds, fistulas, and ostomies
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Educate patients and families on wound care management and prevention
  • Support staff education, training, and onboarding initiatives
  • Identify patients at risk for pressure injuries and implement prevention strategies
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits
  • Deliver culturally competent, patient-centered care
  • Maintain compliance with patient confidentiality and healthcare regulations
  • Assist in the selection and management of wound care supplies and equipment
  • Address clinical concerns and escalate issues as appropriate
  • Support implementation of best practices in wound care
  • Coordinate access to community and support resources
  • Operate specialty equipment such as negative pressure wound therapy devices and specialty beds

Required Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN/ASN) from an accredited program
  • Active New York State RN License (in good standing)
  • Current AHA BLS (CPR) certification
  • Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) nursing experience
  • Hands-on experience in wound care and colostomy management

  • Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (CWOCN)
  • Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON)
  • Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN)
  • Certified Wound Specialist (CWS)
  • Wound Care Certified (WCC)
