Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) | Travel Contract
Location: Greenville, SC 29605
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift – 3x12 Hours (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Schedule: Every other weekend required
Block Scheduling: Not available


Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide high-quality respiratory care in a fast-paced, acute care environment. The therapist will work primarily with adult and geriatric patients, delivering critical respiratory interventions and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide respiratory care in adult critical care settings
  • Perform procedures including extubation, airway management, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
  • Administer respiratory medications via various delivery systems (MDI, nebulizers, aerosol setups, trach collars, etc.)
  • Manage oxygen therapy including high-flow nasal cannula and trach collar systems
  • Operate and monitor ventilators, including BiPAP and CPAP
  • Troubleshoot ventilator alarms and assist with weaning from mechanical ventilation
  • Conduct pulmonary hygiene and collect sputum specimens
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams for patient care planning
  • Float to other units or campuses as needed based on competency

Requirements

  • Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license in South Carolina (required at submission)
  • Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
  • Trauma Level 1 experience required
  • Minimum 1 year of Epic charting experience

Certifications Required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

Clinical Skills Required

  • Adult critical care experience
  • Airway management (nasal/oral airway placement, suctioning)
  • Tracheostomy care and pulmonary hygiene
  • Medication administration including bronchodilators, steroids, and specialty respiratory drugs
  • Experience with aerosol delivery systems and nebulizers
  • Ventilator management and oxygen therapy systems
  • Proficiency with high-flow oxygen systems, CPAP, and BiPAP

Additional Details

  • Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
  • Call-off policy: Facility may cancel 1 shift per 2 weeks
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Local candidates accepted (radius rules apply)
  • All schedule requests must be submitted and approved at time of booking
