Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – PACU | Travel Contract
Location: West Hollywood, CA 90048
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Mid Shift – 3x12 Hours (2:00 PM – 2:30 AM)
Schedule: Block scheduling available


Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced PACU Registered Nurse (RN) to join a high-acuity, fast-paced post-anesthesia care unit. The RN will provide comprehensive care to patients recovering from a wide range of surgical procedures, supporting diverse patient populations and clinical specialties.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive care to post-anesthesia patients, primarily adults with some pediatric cases
  • Monitor and manage patients recovering from various surgical procedures
  • Perform cardiac and respiratory monitoring, including care of ventilated patients
  • Administer and monitor conscious and procedural sedation
  • Manage complex cases involving pulmonary artery lines (Swan-Ganz) and telemetry
  • Recognize and respond to dysrhythmias and neurological changes
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Float to different PACU areas as required

Unit & Caseload Details

  • High-volume unit handling approximately 120–140 cases per day
  • 100+ Pre-op/PACU bays
  • Exposure to a wide variety of specialties, including:
    • General & Trauma Surgery
    • Cardiac & Vascular
    • Neuro & Spine
    • Orthopedics
    • Oncology & Transplant (Liver, Kidney)
    • Bariatric, Colorectal, Urology, Gynecology
    • Pediatric, Plastic, and Reconstructive surgeries
    • Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology, Pain Management, Ophthalmology, and more

Requirements

  • Active California RN License (required at submission)
  • Minimum 2 years of PACU experience

Certifications Required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Clinical Experience:

  • Conscious sedation and IV starts
  • Ventilator management
  • Pulmonary artery lines (Swan-Ganz)
  • Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management

Additional Details

  • Weekend shifts: As needed
  • Floating: Required
  • On-call: Not required
