Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a high-acuity PACU environment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing a large and diverse surgical caseload while providing safe, high-quality post-anesthesia care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from a wide range of surgical procedures
• Monitor patient vital signs, airway status, and level of consciousness
• Administer medications and manage pain control
• Perform IV starts and assist with conscious sedation recovery
• Manage patients with advanced monitoring including telemetry and ventilators
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure smooth patient transitions
• Float across PACU and pre-op areas as needed
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation

Patient Population

• Primarily Adult
• Some Pediatric cases

Case Types

• General and Trauma Surgery
• Thoracic and Cardiac
• Surgical Oncology
• Orthopedic and Spine/Neuro Trauma
• Bariatric and Colorectal
• Urology and Gynecology
• Vascular and Transplant (Liver, Kidney)
• Interventional Radiology, Endoscopy
• Plastic, Hand, Foot/Ankle
• Ophthalmology, Pain Management, EENT

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience
• Active California RN License (required at submission)
• BLS, ACLS, PALS – Required
• First-time travelers accepted

Required Skills

• Experience with conscious sedation recovery
• Strong IV start skills
• Experience with:
  • Pulmonary artery lines
  • Telemetry monitoring
  • Ventilator management
