Job Title: Medical Assistant (Contract)

Location: Asheville, NC
Duration: 8 Weeks
Schedule:

• Monday – Thursday: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Friday: 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to support both clinical and administrative functions in a fast-paced healthcare setting. This role plays a key part in ensuring efficient workflow, high-quality patient care, and a positive patient experience.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and accurately obtain/document vital signs
• Perform phlebotomy/venipuncture, EKGs, and point-of-care (POC) testing
• Assist with clinical procedures and administer vaccines as directed
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms for patient visits
• Schedule appointments, manage phone calls, and update EMR records
• Support providers during patient visits
• Assist with patient flow, education, and overall experience

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ year of Medical Assistant experience (2–3 years preferred)
• Phlebotomy/venipuncture experience required
• Experience working with EMR systems
• Strong communication, multitasking, and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Medical Assistant Certification
• Occupational Health experience
