Job Title: Facilities Technician – Contract

Location: Elmhurst, IL
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift – 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Schedule: 5 Days/Week
Hours: 40 hours/week

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable Facilities Technician to support building operations by maintaining safety, quality, and compliance standards. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting facility issues, and ensuring efficient day-to-day operations within the facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and lockout/tagout practices
  • Communicate effectively with team members, leadership, and external vendors
  • Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other building systems
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify wear, safety concerns, and potential failures
  • Perform basic repairs such as filter changes, minor leaks, lighting replacements, and equipment adjustments
  • Monitor building automation systems and report any issues or irregularities
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and troubleshoot facility-related issues
  • Escalate complex problems to supervisors or third-party vendors as needed
  • Participate in emergency response procedures and on-call rotation when required
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of mechanical rooms and maintenance areas
  • Perform general facility upkeep including minor carpentry, painting, and repairs
  • Assist vendors and contractors during service visits
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory usage accurately
  • Recommend improvements for safety, efficiency, and overall facility performance

Required Qualifications:

  • 6–12 months of facilities or building maintenance experience
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Familiarity with safety protocols, PPE, and maintenance procedures
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
