Job Title: Medical Receptionist – Neurology Department

Schedule: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM | 5x8 Hour Shifts

Job Overview:

We are seeking a professional and patient-focused Medical Receptionist to provide front-desk and administrative support in a neurology practice. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced healthcare environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients and visitors in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner
  • Manage high-volume phone lines, directing calls appropriately
  • Handle patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently
  • Verify insurance eligibility and collect co-payments and outstanding balances
  • Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments
  • Maintain accurate patient demographic and billing information in the system
  • Assist with referrals and ensure required documentation is completed
  • Support billing, collections, and daily financial processes
  • Maintain organized patient records and filing systems
  • Monitor and manage office supplies and inventory
  • Assist with EMR pre-loading and data entry tasks
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies
  • Provide excellent customer service to enhance patient satisfaction
  • Collaborate with team members and adapt to clinic needs as required

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a medical receptionist or similar role
  • Proficiency with EHR/EMR systems (Epic preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Appointment scheduling
    • Medical terminology
    • HIPAA compliance
    • Insurance verification
    • Multi-line phone systems
    • Data entry
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Willingness to travel to nearby locations as needed

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Prior experience in a specialty clinic (Neurology preferred)
  • CPR certification (preferred)

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
