Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) – Night Shift

Location: Hyannis, MA 02601
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Pay Rate: $60 – $65/hour

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a skilled and compassionate Respiratory Therapist to provide high-quality respiratory care in an acute care setting. The ideal candidate will have strong critical care experience and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and identify acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions
• Initiate, manage, and monitor ventilatory support, including troubleshooting and weaning
• Apply lung-protective strategies and adhere to therapist-driven protocols and departmental policies
• Perform diagnostic procedures such as arterial blood gas (ABG) draws and sputum specimen collection
• Interpret ABG results and conduct bedside spirometry and capnography
• Monitor respiratory status during patient transport within and between facilities
• Respond to emergency situations including Code Blue and Rapid Response events
• Assist with procedures such as intubations, conscious sedation, and bronchoscopies
• Administer therapeutic gases (oxygen, Heliox, high-flow oxygen therapy)
• Provide care for neonatal and pediatric patients using appropriate respiratory modalities
• Manage artificial airways including tracheostomy care, suctioning, and tube changes
• Administer aerosolized and metered-dose medications
• Utilize and maintain non-invasive ventilation systems
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and contribute clinical expertise
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation and billing in the EMR
• Maintain respiratory equipment, supplies, and inventory
• Train and precept staff, students, and new team members as needed
• Deliver excellent patient care with a focus on service excellence and professionalism

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
• Active Massachusetts Respiratory Therapy License
• Current BLS Certification
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of critical care experience preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
