Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Pulmonary Clinic

Location: State College, Pennsylvania, 16801
Job Type: Contract (13 Weeks)
Shift: Day Shift (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)


Position Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) in a pulmonary clinic provides professional nursing care in an outpatient setting, following established clinical standards and best practices. This role supports healthcare providers, educates patients, and collaborates with the care team to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct patient care in an outpatient pulmonary clinic setting.
  • Assist providers with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.
  • Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes or emergencies.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to coordinate care.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and infection control standards.

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of nursing principles and patient care techniques
  • Knowledge of diagnostic procedures, treatments, and medication administration
  • Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment and prioritize tasks
  • Strong communication and patient education skills
  • Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical office procedures

Licensure & Certifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) License – Pennsylvania
  • BLS Certification (American Heart Association; renewal every 2 years required)

  • Exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, and medical substances
  • May require occasional travel to other clinic locations
  • Potential for irregular hours based on operational needs
