Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Technologist

Location: New York, NY 10029
Schedule: 35 hours per week (5 days/week, 7 hours/day)
Shift: Nights
Work Pattern: Monday–Friday with rotating weekends
Employment Type: Temp-to-Perm (13-week contract with potential for full-time conversion)

Position Summary

The Clinical Laboratory Technologist is responsible for performing routine and complex laboratory testing, with a primary focus on blood bank operations. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment to support high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing in blood bank, hematology, and chemistry
• Ensure accuracy, reliability, and timely reporting of test results
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment
• Adhere to all laboratory safety, compliance, and quality control procedures
• Maintain accurate documentation and laboratory records
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to support patient diagnosis and treatment
• Participate in rotating weekend coverage as required

Required Qualifications

• Valid New York State License as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
• Minimum 1–3 years of relevant laboratory experience
• Hands-on experience in blood bank operations (required)
• Associate’s Degree from an accredited laboratory technology program
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Additional Information

• Candidates must be open to transitioning into a full-time role after the 13-week assignment
