Job Title: Registered Dietitian – Contract

Location: Bronx, NY
Department: Food and Nutrition Services
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: 5 Days/Week
Shift: Day Shift – 7 hours/day
Guaranteed Hours: 35 hours/week

Compensation:

  • Traveler Pay: $60–65/hr (based on experience)
  • Local Pay: $47–52/hr (based on experience)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified Registered Dietitian to assess, plan, and implement nutrition care for patients in a clinical setting. The role involves monitoring food and drug interactions, providing patient education, and collaborating with healthcare providers to ensure optimal nutritional outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct timely nutrition screenings and patient assessments
  • Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans
  • Monitor patient progress and provide ongoing follow-up care
  • Interview patients and families to evaluate dietary habits and preferences
  • Interpret laboratory results and clinical data related to nutrition
  • Provide nutrition education and document patient understanding
  • Monitor and manage food and drug interactions
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams on diet modifications
  • Adjust patient menus as needed based on clinical requirements

Work Setting:

  • Hospital-based Food and Nutrition Services department
  • May include outpatient and dialysis patient populations

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics or Food & Nutrition (required)
  • Master’s Degree (preferred)

Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience (required)
  • 2+ years preferred

Certifications & Licensure:

  • Registered Dietitian (CDR) – required
  • New York State Dietitian-Nutritionist Certification – required
  • AHA BLS – preferred

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience with outpatient and dialysis patients preferred
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Must comply with all facility policies and health clearance requirements
