Medical Technologist 

Location: Englewood, FL 34233
Schedule: Full-Time | Night Shift | Rotating Weekends

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Medical Technologist to join a high-performing laboratory team. This role is responsible for performing accurate and timely diagnostic testing to support quality patient care.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and a commitment to maintaining excellence in laboratory operations and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

Laboratory Operations

• Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing within established turnaround times
• Execute STAT testing procedures efficiently
• Analyze proficiency testing samples according to required standards
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of patient results

Quality & Compliance

• Perform quality control procedures in accordance with established protocols
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with laboratory specimens and test results
• Ensure adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards

Analytical & Technical Skills

• Interpret and correlate patient results using independent judgment
• Perform delta checks and validate test accuracy
• Review pending and result logs; resolve outstanding items or communicate effectively during handoffs

Team & Operational Support

• Assume departmental responsibility in the absence of a supervisor
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and continuity of operations

Required Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Medical Technology or related field – Required
• Active State of Florida Medical Technologist License – Required

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist
• Generalist experience strongly preferred, including:
  • Blood Bank
  • Serology
  • Chemistry
  • Hematology
  • Microbiology
