Job Summary

The Registered Nurse – Recovery / PACU is responsible for providing post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgical procedures. This role involves close monitoring, assessment, and management of patients as they transition from anesthesia to stable recovery.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care

• Monitor patients post-procedure for anesthesia recovery and complications
• Assess vital signs, airway status, and level of consciousness
• Administer medications and manage pain control
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition

Clinical Operations

• Ensure safe recovery and discharge readiness of patients
• Maintain accurate documentation in EMR systems
• Follow post-operative care protocols and safety standards

Collaboration

• Work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative teams
• Communicate patient status and care plans effectively

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Recovery / PACU or relevant acute care experience
• AHA Certifications Required:
  • BLS
  • ACLS
• NIHSS Certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in PACU or surgical recovery settings
• Acute Care RN with hospital experience
• Experience working with surgical cases
