Position: Travel RN – Operating Room (OR) (Contract)

Location: Fort Myers, FL 33901
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: 36 hours/week

• Shift Option: Monday, Thursday & Friday – 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM

Compensation:

• Weekly Gross Pay: $2,000 – $2,200 (based on experience)
• Note: No local candidates within 50 miles accepted

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to support surgical services in a fast-paced clinical environment. The ideal candidate will have strong orthopedic experience and be proficient in both scrub and circulating roles while maintaining high standards of patient safety and sterile technique.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms with appropriate instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies
• Maintain strict adherence to aseptic and sterile techniques
• Perform preoperative assessments, verifying patient identity, surgical site, and consent
• Assist surgeons during procedures by anticipating needs and passing instruments
• Function in scrub and/or circulating roles as required
• Monitor patient condition throughout surgery, including positioning and vital signs
• Coordinate communication between surgical team and other departments
• Ensure proper patient positioning to prevent injury
• Handle and document surgical specimens according to protocol
• Complete accurate intraoperative documentation in EMR systems
• Enforce safety protocols including surgical counts and time-outs

Required Qualifications:

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience – required
• Strong orthopedic (ortho) experience – required
• Prior travel experience – preferred

Licensure & Certifications:

• Active RN License – required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) – required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – required

Technical Skills:

• Experience with Epic EMR system – required

Additional Requirements:

• On-call requirement as per facility needs
• Must comply with 50-mile radius rule (no local candidates)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity surgical environment
