Position: Project Lead 3

Location: Austin, Texas (Hybrid – 3 Days Remote, 2 Days Onsite: Wednesday & Friday)
Duration: 4 Months (Possible Extension)


Overview

Seeking an experienced Project Lead to support a Technical Project Manager on a data engineering initiative aligned with an AI adoption program. This role focuses on managing cross-functional coordination, tracking deliverables, and ensuring alignment between business, engineering, and AI stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead project planning, coordination, and execution for complex technical initiatives

  • Gather and document business and technical requirements

  • Develop project plans, timelines, milestones, and success metrics

  • Monitor project progress and provide regular status reporting

  • Manage cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders

  • Support data engineering and platform initiatives

  • Ensure alignment between business, technical, and AI-focused teams

  • Maintain project documentation including charters, schedules, and reports

  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning


Required Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (required)

  • Minimum 10 years of experience leading technical projects or programs in data, analytics, or cloud environments

  • 10+ years of experience with data architecture, data modeling, and data warehousing initiatives

  • Proven experience managing BI, big data, and analytics projects in enterprise environments

  • Experience supporting healthcare data initiatives (FHIR, CCDA, HL7 familiarity is a plus)

  • Strong working knowledge of SQL and database technologies

  • Expertise in project planning, budgeting, forecasting, and resource management

  • Proficiency with project management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, MS Project, Smartsheet)

  • Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare or regulated environments (compliance, security, data governance)

  • Additional certifications (PgMP, PMI-ACP, SAFe, or similar)

  • Familiarity with SDLC, enterprise architecture, and IT processes

  • Experience supporting AI, advanced analytics, or digital transformation initiatives

  • Cloud or architecture certifications (Azure, AWS, GCP, TOGAF)

  • Strong consulting and facilitation skills
