Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Assistant (SPED) / Behavior Technician to provide one-on-one support to a student with behavioral needs in a school setting. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about working with children and supporting their academic, social, and emotional development through structured behavioral interventions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 behavioral support within a special education (SPED) environment

  • Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) under the guidance of educators and specialists

  • Support the development of social, emotional, and communication skills

  • Utilize approved techniques to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviors

  • Collect and maintain accurate behavioral data and progress documentation

  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and multidisciplinary team members

  • Foster a safe, structured, and positive learning environment

  • Assist with classroom activities and daily routines as needed


Required Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Prior experience working with children with behavioral challenges or special needs (Preferred)

  • Experience in school, ABA, or therapy settings (Preferred)


Skills & Competencies

  • Knowledge of behavior management and intervention strategies

  • Ability to remain calm and patient in high-pressure situations

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to follow structured plans and work collaboratively within a team

  • Strong observation, documentation, and organizational skills


Work Environment

  • School-based special education (SPED) setting

  • One-on-one student support role

  • Collaborative environment with educators, therapists, and support staff
