Local: $1,900 – $2,300/week

The Surgical Technologist is responsible for assisting in surgical procedures by performing scrub and circulating duties under the direct supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse. This role requires expertise in operating room protocols, aseptic techniques, and surgical instrumentation, particularly in cardiac procedures.
Minimum 2 years of experience as an OR Technician
Mandatory Cardiac OR (CVOR) experience
CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) certification required
Completion of an accredited CST training program
High School Diploma required
Perform surgical scrub, gowning, and gloving procedures
Maintain strict aseptic technique at all times
Prepare sterile instrument tables and supplies based on procedure
Assist in draping patients and surgical areas
Anticipate surgeon needs (instruments, sutures, sponges, etc.)
Maintain accurate counts of instruments, needles, and sponges
Handle specimens according to protocol
Assist with dressings and drainage systems
Ensure proper disposal of contaminated materials and reprocessing of instruments
Assist RN with circulating functions
Prepare and organize surgical supplies and equipment
Ensure proper patient positioning and safety
Maintain sterile environment and monitor OR traffic
Assist with patient transfer and post-procedure care
Support room turnover and preparation for next procedure
Assist RN with medication preparation under supervision
Label all medications appropriately
Verbally confirm medication details before administration
Retain medication containers until patient leaves OR
Do not handle narcotics or controlled substances
Assist with patient transport as needed
Monitor inventory levels and notify leadership of changes
Maintain organization of OR and sterile storage areas
Support updates to preference cards and equipment needs
Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and sterile techniques
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
High attention to detail and patient safety
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Physical stamina and manual dexterity
Exposure to a wide range of surgical procedures and technologies
Fast-paced operating room setting
