Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg

Location: Brooklyn, NY
Schedule: 3x12 shifts (Days/Nights) | 34.5 hours/week
Contract: 13 weeks (No extension)

Compensation:

Travelers: $70/hr
Local Candidates: $58/hr

Position Overview: We are seeking experienced Med/Surg Registered Nurses to support increased patient census. This is a 13-week contract with no extension.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
• Provide direct bedside care to pre- and post-surgical patients
• Administer and document medications as prescribed
• Perform wound care, IV therapy, catheterization, and dressing changes
• Monitor vital signs and report any adverse reactions
• Operate and adjust medical equipment as needed
• Collaborate with healthcare teams on discharge planning
• Educate patients and families on treatment and post-care instructions
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
• Follow established nursing standards and protocols

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience in an acute care setting
• Recent experience within the past 1 year required
• Strong skills in patient assessment, medication administration, IV therapy, and post-operative care
• Experience with wound care, infection control, and telemetry monitoring

Preferred Skills:

• EPIC EMR experience

Education:

• Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution

Certifications & Licensure:

• Active New York State RN License
• AHA BLS certification
• AHA ACLS (preferred/required for specific units)
