Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Technologist (Blood Bank / Chemistry & Hematology)

Location: Manhattan, NY
Duration: 13 Weeks (Temp-to-Perm Opportunity)
Schedule Options:

  • 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM (Rotating weekends)

  • 12:00 AM – 8:00 AM
    Hours: 35 hours per week


Compensation (Upon Conversion)

  • Full-Time Salary Range: $85,000 – $100,000 annually


Position Overview

A healthcare facility in Manhattan, NY is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technologist to support both Blood Bank and Chemistry & Hematology departments.

This is a temp-to-perm opportunity, and candidates should be open to transitioning into a full-time role upon completion of the contract.


Blood Bank Department

Requirements

  • 2–3+ years of Clinical Laboratory Technologist experience

  • Strong blood bank experience required

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

  • Valid NYSED Clinical Laboratory Technologist License

  • Willingness to convert to a full-time role

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform blood typing, crossmatching, and antibody screening

  • Prepare and issue blood products for transfusion

  • Monitor and maintain blood inventory levels

  • Ensure compliance with transfusion safety protocols

  • Perform quality control procedures and resolve discrepancies

  • Maintain accurate documentation and lab records


Chemistry & Hematology Department

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory experience

  • Strong background in chemistry and hematology testing

  • Associate’s Degree required (Bachelor’s preferred)

  • Valid NYSED Clinical Laboratory Technologist License

  • BLS Certification

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and complex chemical and hematological analyses

  • Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and analyzers

  • Analyze and verify test results for accuracy

  • Conduct quality control procedures and troubleshoot issues

  • Maintain proper documentation and compliance with lab protocols

  • Collaborate with healthcare teams for timely reporting of results
