We are seeking a highly experienced Network Consultant with deep expertise in routing, switching, and packet-level network analysis. This role focuses on supporting critical IT initiatives through the implementation and optimization of NETSCOUT-based network monitoring and deep packet inspection solutions.
The ideal candidate will play a key role in network architecture planning, deployment, and performance monitoring, ensuring minimal disruption to production environments.
Configure and assign management ports and IP addresses for network monitoring tools
Set up and manage SPAN ports for traffic mirroring and monitoring
Integrate network TAPs into production environments without impacting traffic flow
Configure and validate packet capture and monitoring thresholds
Implement and support deep packet inspection (DPI) solutions
Monitor network traffic and analyze performance using advanced tools
Develop alerting thresholds and ensure proactive issue detection
Assist in network architecture design and planning
Review and contribute to system and network design documentation
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure improvements
Perform packet-level troubleshooting across multiple protocols (HTTP/S, DNS, VoIP/SIP, SQL)
Analyze complex application flows and network behavior
Ensure stability and performance of enterprise network systems
Minimum 12+ years of experience in networking
Strong hands-on experience with routing protocols:
BGP, MPLS, OSPF (required)
Minimum 12+ years of experience with deep packet inspection technologies
Proven experience deploying and managing NETSCOUT Infinistream solutions
Strong understanding of enterprise-scale network environments
Ability to work in a hybrid schedule (onsite and remote)
Expertise in nGeniusONE configuration, including dashboards, monitors, and alerting profiles
Experience with additional routing protocols:
EIGRP, iBGP, eBGP, IS-IS
Experience with network management protocols: SNMPv3, Syslog, NetFlow
Strong knowledge of network architecture design tools (e.g., MS Visio)
Familiarity with large-scale or public-sector network environments
Experience reviewing technical and project documentation
Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) and traffic analysis
Advanced network troubleshooting and diagnostics
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Attention to detail and documentation skills
Effective communication and collaboration across teams
