Hours: 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM
Orientation: 11.5–12 Hours
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for an 8-week contract in a dynamic procedural unit supporting Electrophysiology (EP), Cardiac Cath Lab, and Interventional Radiology (IR). The role involves pre- and post-procedure patient care in a collaborative, fast-paced environment focused on cardiac arrhythmia management.
Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (no rotating shifts)
No weekends or on-call requirements
Floating required to Cath Prep and Recovery
Mixed procedural unit: EP, Cath Lab, and IR
Average Daily Census: 7 patients
Rooms: 2 | Beds: 12
Patient Population: Adult
Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4
Provide pre- and post-procedure nursing care for cardiac and interventional patients
Monitor patients undergoing procedural sedation and recovery
Assist in EP and Cath Lab procedures as needed
Administer medications, including antiarrhythmics, vasopressors, and emergency drugs
Perform IV therapy, including blood products and PICC line management
Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and vital signs
Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Active Registered Nurse (RN) License (State of New York)
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Minimum 2 years of RN experience
Experience in EP Lab, Cath Lab, or similar procedural setting
Strong knowledge of cardiac arrhythmias and rhythm interpretation
Experience with procedural sedation and recovery care
EPIC documentation experience required
Ability to manage a 1:4 patient ratio
Cath Lab training (preferred)
Previous charge nurse experience
Experience in teaching and/or community hospital settings
Cardioversion and dysrhythmia management
12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition and interpretation
Sheath removal and vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose)
End-tidal CO₂ monitoring
Infection control and isolation precautions
Sedation monitoring (RASS)
Hemostasis techniques (D-Stat, Chito-Seal, Syvek Patch)
Medication System: Omnicell
Documentation: EPIC
Communication Framework: SBAR
First-time travelers accepted
Scrubs provided
