Position Title: Surgical Technologist – Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
Location: Hyannis, MA 02601
Pay Rate: $62 – $72/hr (Traveler)
Job Type: Contract (13 Weeks)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM or 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
Position Overview:
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced CVOR Surgical Technologist to assist surgeons and nursing staff during cardiovascular surgeries. This role involves preparing operating rooms, maintaining sterile fields, providing instruments, and supporting patient care throughout procedures. Candidates must be skilled in cardiovascular surgical procedures, sterile techniques, and infection control standards. Ability to float to the General OR and participate in on-call rotations is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain operating rooms with instruments, sterile drapes, and surgical equipment
Maintain sterile field and adhere to infection control standards
Assist surgeons by passing instruments, holding retractors, cutting sutures, and assisting with counts
Prepare and handle surgical specimens
Support patient transport, positioning, and transfer to recovery
Operate surgical equipment as needed
Assist with room turnover, cleaning, and restocking
Collaborate with nursing staff and participate in training and professional development
Provide a safe, patient-centered surgical environment
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist / Operating Room Technician program
Active certification from a recognized body (AST or ACS)
BLS certification required
Minimum 2 years CVOR experience and ability to assist in cardiovascular procedures
Ability to float to General OR
Strong communication skills and commitment to high-quality patient care
Ability to work in fast-paced, on-call environments including nights, weekends, and holidays
