Compensation

  • Local Pay: Up to $1,620 per week (within 50 miles)

  • Travel Pay: Up to $2,200 per week (outside 50 miles)

Position Summary

A healthcare facility in Renovo, PA is seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist / Technician for a contract assignment. The selected candidate will perform routine and specialized laboratory testing on patient specimens to support accurate diagnosis and treatment.

The technologist will ensure proper specimen handling, maintain laboratory equipment, and follow established quality control and safety standards while collaborating with physicians and healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine and specialized laboratory tests on blood, urine, and other patient specimens

  • Perform venipuncture and specimen collection with accuracy and proper handling techniques

  • Analyze and report laboratory test results to physicians for diagnostic purposes

  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment

  • Follow infection control, laboratory safety protocols, and quality assurance procedures

  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to support patient care decisions

  • Document laboratory results accurately in the Laboratory Information System (LIS)

  • Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement programs

  • Stay updated on advancements in laboratory technology and procedures

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or equivalent

  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and clinical laboratory practices

  • Experience with blood banking procedures preferred

  • Strong data analysis and attention to detail for accurate reporting of results

  • Ability to work effectively in a hospital or clinical laboratory environment

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and ethical standards

Education Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited program
