Job Title: Medical Technician – Laboratory
Location: Englewood, Florida
Job Type: Full-Time
Shift: Night Shift
Weekends: Rotating Weekends
Salary Range: $22.39 – $31.34 per hour (based on experience)
A healthcare facility in Englewood, FL is seeking a skilled Medical Technician – Laboratory to perform laboratory testing and analysis that supports accurate diagnosis and patient treatment.
The Medical Technician will ensure laboratory procedures are completed accurately, meet required turnaround times, and comply with quality and regulatory standards while supporting overall laboratory operations.
Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing according to established protocols and procedures
Analyze proficiency testing samples and complete them within the required timeframe
Perform STAT laboratory procedures and ensure results meet turnaround time standards
Maintain and document patient test records and laboratory documentation accurately
Conduct quality control procedures and address issues related to test results or critical specimens
Review pending and result logs and resolve outstanding laboratory workload
Interpret and correlate patient results using independent judgment, including delta checks
Assist with departmental operations and assume responsibilities in the absence of the supervisor when needed
Associate Degree (2-Year) in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field – Required
Bachelor’s Degree (4-Year) in Medical Technology or related field – Preferred
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Technician preferred
State of Florida Medical Technologist / Technician License – Required
Technician license required in one or more specialty areas, such as:
Blood Bank
Serology
Chemistry
Hematology
Microbiology
