Assignment Details

  • Duration: 3+ Month Contract (Extendable)

  • Shift: Day Shift

  • Guaranteed Hours: 37.5 Hours per Week

  • Schedule: Mix of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts, totaling 80 hours biweekly

  • Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend

  • Local Candidates: Accepted

Compensation

  • Weekly Pay: $2,764.12 per week (based on 37.5 hours)

Position Summary

A healthcare facility in Syracuse, NY is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room for a contract assignment. The RN will provide perioperative nursing care for a variety of surgical procedures including general, orthopedic, trauma, neurological, and robotic surgeries.

The ideal candidate will have strong clinical expertise in the operating room, maintain strict sterile techniques, and collaborate effectively with surgeons and surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide perioperative nursing care for general, orthopedic, trauma, neuro, and robotic surgeries

  • Serve as circulating and scrub nurse during surgical procedures

  • Maintain sterile field and infection control standards in the operating room

  • Assist with patient positioning, surgical instrument preparation, and robotic equipment setup

  • Monitor patient condition and document intraoperative care and observations

  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical team members to ensure patient safety

  • Ensure compliance with surgical safety protocols and hospital policies

Required Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) License – State of New York

  • Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room (OR) nursing experience

  • Experience with general, orthopedic, trauma, neuro, and robotic surgical cases

  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and time management skills

Required Certifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association

Preferred Certifications

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association
