Schedule: 7:15 AM – 2:30 PM
Hours: 34 hours per week
Pay Rate: $22 – $24 per hour (W2)
A school-based educational support setting in South Riding, VA is seeking a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to provide one-on-one support to an elementary school student. The PCA will assist the student with personal care needs, classroom participation, and daily school activities while ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.
Assist the student with personal care needs such as toileting, hygiene, and handwashing
Support the student during mealtime routines, including eating and drinking if needed
Help the student move safely throughout the classroom and school environment
Assist the student in following classroom instructions and completing learning activities
Encourage focus, participation, and engagement during lessons
Monitor the student’s safety and overall well-being throughout the school day
Communicate effectively with teachers and school staff regarding the student’s needs and progress
Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and adherence to school policies
Experience working with children or students with special needs preferred
Patient, compassionate, and supportive attitude
Ability to follow teacher instructions and school guidelines
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Basic knowledge of child safety and hygiene practices
Elementary school setting
Works closely with teachers, school staff, and support teams
Provides support during classroom activities, breaks, and school transitions
